Ryan + Dornberg Residence

Grand Junction, CO, 2,900 SF, 1.5 Story

Originally platted in 1946, Bookcliff Park is home to a range of post-World War II and mid-century modern structures. Over the years, many have evolved quirks and idiosyncrasies as families grew or ownership changed. This house builds on the unique character of the neighborhood with unexpected combinations of building forms, materials, and patterns. Exterior materials include brick veneer, honed-face CMU, fiber cement, Douglas Fir, corrugated galvanized metal, natural copper, exposed aggregate concrete, and natural sandstone.

Materials including neutral shades of stucco and pre-finished metals with accents of red and copper create a discreet exterior palette.
